Around The World In 80 Days: Montego Bay & Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Now that I’m traveling more, I decided to create a new series about my world travels.  When I was a child, I remember reading the book Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne.  I think reading this story made me want to be a world traveler and as a tribute I will be writing any blog posts devoted to world travel---places I have been or want to go---will fall under this category.

In late August, I traveled to Montego Bay, Jamaica with a group of family and friends.  We stayed at the Iberostar Hotel and Resort a five-star resort in Rose Hall, Jamaica.  We had a fine time lounging on the beach, dining and shopping at its restaurants and boutiques and even partying at the resort’s clubs.

We veered off the resort for a day trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica where we took a boat ride to the Dunne’s River Falls and Park, a Jamaican national treasure.  Members of our group climbed the rocks of the waterfall and bathed in the cool turquoise waters of the park’s beach.  It was really beautiful and from what I saw of Ocho Rios, I would gladly return to one of its resorts just to enjoy its beautiful beaches and that beautiful ocean water that I keep thinking about.

Overall, I had a wonderful time in Montego Bay and returned home feeling refreshed and invigorated.  I look forward to returning there soon.

Here’s to traveling more and learning more about the world…
